CNN.com Report: Somali Pirates grab 50 Yemeni Fishermen
CNN.com - Report: Pirates grab 50 fishermen - Mar 7, 2006: "Saba quoted a Yemeni official as saying that Somali pirates abducted the fishermen on Monday from four boats off of Yemen's Abdul-Kori island, part of Socotra -- a small archipelago in the Indian Ocean off the Horn of Africa."
Look. Obviously this is tragic, both for the families of the fishermen and for the international community and its avowed disapproval of piracy. But I have to admit... this made me laugh. To think, that in the 21st Century we still have pirates!

There was something like this back in August, wasn't there, when a yacht that was being raided by pirates drove the wretched corsairs with a sonic weapon?
I've thought about becoming a pirate, lately -- don't laugh. I wasn't very serious about it, but I did contemplate what it might cost to set up shop with a fast ship, establish contacts in a discrete port where I could fence goods and find someone to retro-fit surplus Soviet machine guns to my hull.
